Chlorine gas intentionally released at “Furry” convention – 19 are hospitalized

Police are investigating the intentional release of chlorine gas incident at a “furry” convention in Chicago – 19 people were sent to hospitals over the weekend.What’s a furry, you ask? Someone with an interest in and who dresses up as an anthropomorphic animal character. Live and let live…

Here’s a report on the story:

The convention included panel discussions on making costumes (made from fake fur) and dance contests. Attendees say they come not only for fun, but also for the artistic and spiritual aspects of celebrating animal characters from movies, TV shows, comic books and video games.

The incident occurred at the Hyatt, where first responders were called to investigate a noxious odor  spreading across the ninth floor of the hotel.
